We must not forget those who paid the highest of all currencies so that we may enjoy the blessings of freedom and democracy. Let us honor their deaths and sacrifices by ensuring that the flame of democracy is forever kept alive. Let us not make the grave mistake of valuing our freedom too lightly. It was paid for by the lives, blood, and sacrifices of our heroes.
My snappy salute to our nation's heroes and beloved veterans as we celebrate today the "Araw ng Kagitingan". We truly appreciate the enormity of your sacrifice. Because of your selfless acts, we now relish the blessings of freedom and democracy. Indeed, to you we owe a debt of gratitude that transcends the passage of time. Taos-puso po kaming nagpapasalamat!
